It's been a while...
2020 has been a wirlwind for everyone. From staying home everyday, to no school for students and teachers, to online teaching, working and studying from home, no work for others, little income, lack of support, loss of loved ones, being trapped in different parts of the world, coming head on with the virus, protecting the vunerable, taking care of those infected, implementation of saftey measures and rules, uncertainty of the world and its situation, protests and riots and mixed messages from governments, countries and from people all around the world.
Alongside all of this catastrophe that 2020 brought along, many of US were still working, and studying and trying to adjust and manage the changes in life, caused by the emedemic situation. For me I was in the midst of the epidemic long before it reached other parts of the world, so things where I am are currently, are all back up and running as normal.
The hardest part throughout all of this year, was trying to manage studying online whilst also teaching online. This has to be one of the many challenges faced by teachers and students throughout this pandemic. For me, having to be online all day pretty much everyday was exhausting physically and mentally. When your're usually active, it makes sitting most days in front of your screen much more tiring. Having to spread your time evenly to make sure there was plenty of time to study, has to of been the hardest part, as the last thing anyone wants to do is spend more time on a computer after using it all day. Then there was also the time difference with my course of study, which often causes communication to be limited, which leads to asking questions and being able to get more involved in the community with others more challenging.
Time management plays such a vital role in online and long distance studying, and I admit to personally struggling with this throughout the course to date. Looking forward, after having my first skype meeting back for module 3, I feel I need to really take control of my planning much more. Things can often cause many barriers, but it's the plan you but in place and the time in which is dedicated into your work that will lead to bigger things being uncovered and acheived in studying.
Here's to module 3 and the rest of 2020. Making plans, managing time, being more active with the MAPP community, skype sessions, blog and diary keeping for the rest of this module.
